This book gave me majorly Beauty and the Beast vibes.
A dark fantasy perfect for fans of Margaret Rogerson and Holly Black.
It did not disappoint. It was definitely a book that took time to get into but the chapter art and the general aesthetic of the book was what drew me in.
This book essentially was about a Vynasha who seeks aid to help find her nephew but discovers something worse. Trouble upon more trouble hits Vynasha on her journey but the main question is ... does it eventually lead to something good?
I felt like a lot of it just didn't make complete sense until I get my hands on the second book. I have a lot of questions left unanswered.
Warning: This book ends on a cliff-hanger.
This is Volume One of many Volumes to come. I am excited to see more of Jennifer Silverwood's work. Her world-building really grew on me and got to understand the world Vynasha was in. A fantasy filled book with twists and surprises.
